Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are you a commercial studio or home based business?
A: Home based business
Q: What style is your videography?
A: Footage is captured with multiple cameras then storyboarded on Apple’s Final Cut. I do not believe in special effects or Hollywood-style videos because that takes away from the primary focus – the couple and the event itself!
Q: Do you have lighting equipment to accommodate a more dimly-lit event?
A: If an event is low-lit or candle-lit, I will speak to clients to ensure they understand the pros and cons of video in that environment.
Q: How many videographers will be available?
A: Two. The option is always available to meet my Wife and I prior to the event date. My goal is to keep clients well informed of the entire process.
Q: Do you book yourself for more than one event in a day/weekend?
A: Absolutely not – guaranteed!! I view individuals as people and not names on paper. It is important for me to provide my time to one event and not worry about upcoming or prior events in the same day/weekend.
Q: Where can I view video samples?
A: All completed videos are maintained for use in sharing with potential future clients. Some video highlight work and video films are available to view online.
The online Highlight Retrospectives are not completed videos. They are event highlights provided for clients to view within a couple of weeks after their wedding. This allows everyone to relive some of the memories while they are still fresh as work commences on completing the final video.
For the work prior to 2013, please consider scheduling a home consultation appointment to view my work. You will be granted access to over 15 years of completed work.
Q: How is travel handled?
A: My videography service has travel restrictions. My service is limited to a specified round-trip radius from my home. All inquiries are welcome; however, for consideration.
Q: How long until we receive our completed videos?
A: Typically within 12-20 weeks. Videos are normally completed earlier than that, but it is always better to overestimate the time to allow for any questions, concerns or additional items to be provided in order to complete the video.
Q: What is your event reservation policy?
A: A non-refundable reservation deposit of $200 is due upon signing a contract for an event. Once contract is signed and deposit is paid, the client’s event date and time will be reserved. All event dates will remain open/available until signed contract and deposit are received.
Q: Do you have or utilize drones for videography?
A: We have discovered that while almost all wedding venues will permit some drone usage, many have very strict rules about it. Hotels and other venues open to the public are far more restrictive about drones flying on their property. Other properties consider it an invasion of guest's privacy. Having been around some photographer's drones, we have found them to be loud and distracting at times. Many guests make them a focal point over everything else. Along with that, all drones are required to be registered and licensed with the FAA. Most locations also require proof of drone insurance from vendors. For all of the above reasons, BC Productions Entertainment does not utilize drones for videography services.
